Cinderella Quilt

Stitched a really sweet Cinderella baby quilt this weekend.  I used the magical wind swirls pattern.  I'm sure this will be treasured by the lucky little lady!

County Fair Project!

Congratulations McKenzie on winning a blue ribbon at the Jackson Co. 4- H Fair.  She did a great job sewing her colorful top, backed it with a purple batik and chose "Jill's Bubbles" in neon orange to quilt her project. Thanks for letting me quilt for you!

Abstract Quilting

Quilting thoughts by Carolyn!!

When I finished the piecing for this quilt, I saw the quilt as abstract.  I saw straight lines and curves.  I also wanted the flower block to appear 3-D so I quilted the corners with a tight circle fill and left the rest of the block without quilting. The gray blocks were quilted point to point using a maize pattern which is straight lines using cool gray thread. The blocks with orange centers were stitched using a neon thread using a straight square on a square. The outer border was quilted using a Viking purple with a Greek corner border pattern.  The second border was double loops using cranberry thread.  Finally, the last border was continual circles using totem green thread.

Cross-Stitched Blocks

This beautiful quilt, with cross stitched block's, had a finished size of 104"x118".  The customer provided the fabric for the sashing, stone and borders.  The quilt was quilted with my favorite, Deb's feathers!

Remember when I mentioned the baby quilt that I was making for my friend?

The quilt has been finished and my friend was thrilled with the results.  Do you have any family heirlooms that you would love to incorporate into a project?

Hugs and Kisses

Pattern is Hugs and Kisses and is made with 1930 reproduction fabric.  The quilt is quilted edge to edge with over all feathers.

Fan Quilt

The outline of each fan blade was stitched with a gold metallic.  The base of the fans embellished with gold.   

Footballs

This lap quilt was a quilt that my daughter pieced together using her husbands old football clothing.  The quilt is quilted using a football surrounded by flames pattern edge to edge.

Handkerchiefs

A good friend of mine will become a great-grandmother August.  We were talking about our collection of handkerchiefs.  She was telling me that she has her grandmother’s and great-grandmother’s hankies.  Together we came up with the idea to make a baby quilt using the hankies.  Before starting the quilt, I wanted to make sure that the handkerchiefs would quilt okay.  To test this out, I made a table runner out of some of my own handkerchiefs.  The table runner quilted wonderfully.  I used a daisy edge to edge pattern using a silver gray thread.  I can't wait to start the baby quilt.  What a wonderful keepsake it is going to be for her great-grandchild!
